Bunny was an albino RabbitClan tom with red eyes, tufts of fur on the tips of his ears, and no claws. He had a short tail and walked with sliding paws due to being unable to properly grip the ground.
Bunny was the leader and founder of RabbitClan during his life, though was previously a ShadowClan apprentice and then a rogue before founding RabbitClan- he never graduated whilst in ShadowClan. Bunny was generally calm and fair, though less so before leaving ShadowClan. He was a good listener and rarely became overwhelmed with emotion. He however was not always aware or considerate of others and had a tendency to do things without considering who it may effect emotionally. Bunny was born to Junipernose in ShadowClan as Blizzardkit, for his white pelt. He formed close friendships with Amberkit (Amberfur) and later Badgerkit (Badgerstar) when she was born a moon later. Blizzardkit later developed a major infection in his paws, which ShadowClan's medicine cat later determined was, somehow, caused by his claws, or something inside them. Though they did their best to treat the infection, no herbs normally used for infection seemed to help, and the medicine cat resorted to removing Blizzardkit's claws entirely. While this was painful and disabling, as the claws did not later grow back, it did cure the infection, and Blizzardkit went on to have a relatively normal kithood. Blizzardkit was apprenticed to Leopardshine in the same ceremony as Amberkit. However, due to his lack of claws, his apprenticeship was difficult, not only due to the simple increased difficulty of the tasks, but also due to Leopardshine's refusal to sympathise. Whilst Blizzardpaw Amberpaw and Badgerpaw were out training with their mentors, a badger attacked their patrol. The patrol fled such to not put untrained cats in danger, but Blizzardpaw slipped due to his lack of claws and became tangled in a root, badger hot on his trail. Badgerpaw noticed Blizzardpaw wasn't with the patrol and turned around, attacking the badger to protect him and gaining a terrible scar in the process. As Blizzardpaw grew older, it quickly became apparent that either Leopardshine, the ShadowClan leader, or both didn't want him to graduate to a warrior. When he came to this realization, he came to the decision to leave ShadowClan. He didn't tell a single other cat, neither Badgereye (Badgerpaw) nor Amberfur (Amberpaw). However, as Blizzardpaw was leaving the territory over the WindClan border, Badgereye and Amberfur stopped him, having noticed he'd left the camp and coming after him. They beg him to stay, but Blizzardpaw explains how unwelcome he feels in the clan, and that he simply can't stay. Amberfur and Badgereye both silently accept this, though their expressions are very different- Amberfur sadness, and Badgereye anger. Blizzardpaw wanders for a few days, until getting caught in a rainstorm and quickly growing cold and weak. He desperately searches for shelter, and comes across Spider's barn. He stumbles inside and, though seeing Spider in the shadows and feeling fearful at the possibility of encroaching on the territory of an aggressive rogue, is unable to continue, and passes out. Luckily, Spider is friendly, and Blizzardpaw wakes up alone and safe in the den Spider carved in the back of a haybale. Spider has licked the water from Blizzardpaw's fur. When Spider returns with fresh-kill, he asks Blizzardpaw his name, and Blizzardpaw decides to change his name to Bunny. Spider and Bunny spend their time living together in the Barn for a long time, until one day Acorn arrives at the barn, pregnant, and explains how she became mates with a rogue and was kicked out of WindClan. Bunny comes up with the idea for RabbitClan. Spider initially likes the idea, agreeing with Bunny that the clans need to learn about change and accept it, and planning to join, but later, whilst he is out hunting, he recieves an omen in the form of a rabbit with blood on its face, and interprets this as a warning that RabbitClan will turn out badly. Bunny refuses to give up on the idea, and Spider doesn't push it, but he decides not to join RabbitClan. Not much later, Log arrives in WindClan territory as well. Bunny takes him back to the barn, and upon seeing Acorn mentions that he trained to be a healer in his tribe. Bunny is relieved. |
